Failure? Parenting After IF

Parenting after IF is hard, especially since we feel guilty for complaining because this is what have wanted/dreamed about for years.  When Ant was new to our lives we had many parenting failures.  The first was lack of weight gain.  It seemed like it took forever for him to get back to his birth weight.  Also, the fact that we weren't able to breastfeeding early on.  These factors early on made it hard to feel like a success as a parent.  Looking back now at those failure and realize that we survived them.  He is also a healthy and happy 1 year old. For my new IF mommies friends and for my soon to be mommy friends use the perseverance that brought you to this point.  You can do ANYTHING you put your mind too.  It might not happen the way you dreamed but what you think seems like a unclimbable mountain is climbable.  Your a mommy right?  Or you are pregnant now?  You have already succeeded!  Now take that and run with it!!!

  1. As a DE father I periodically follow your blog with my wife and appreciate your thoughts. However I wouldn’t use the word “failure” ever to describe the ups and downs of parenting. That’s a very strong and negative word. We all do the best we can.

Also, I mentioned in a previous post that there are a lot of typos and misspellings in your blog writing, like “we weren't able to breastfeeding” and you confuse “too” and “to” and “your” and “you’re”. It makes it distracting to read your posts sometimes because it appears you write quickly and don’t edit yourself. Having said that, I enjoy reading your posts so keep writing!

  2. Dave thank you so much for your comment. Yes, I know I make typos and misspelling. Editing is not my thing :) I will make more of an effort. Usually it does come down to time.

    Thank you again for reading!
