Anxiety is Back :(

Before I got pregnant I had terrible anxiety attacks or what I considered terrible. I wasn't worried about anything other then TTC and starting a family but I felt like I always had a heavy heart. Well over the last couple days it has been coming back. The high of pregnancy and BFing is wearing off. What am I going to do? I have throughly enjoyed this break and feeling sane for the first time in years. It might be time to talk to my PCP. I am just not ready to give up BF and I think the only way to get rid of this is to go on HRT which means no BFing :(

  1. My GYN told me that I could go on progesterone, just not estrogen and still BF. She said it would help with bone loss, but would not diminish my supply. Would that help regulate emotions? I am not sure, I have only been on it for about 3 weeks. Our DD is now 2 1/2 months old. If anything, it could be causing me to be more teary? Your story and my story are almost identical.

  2. I'm sorry you are feeling this way. I hope you find something to help with it. I don't have any advice as I am 5 1/2 months pregnant and waiting to see how it will all work with POF. Interested to see what advice you get. Good luck :)

  3. Could your anxiety be something that's fixed by antidepressants?? 2 1/2 years ago I was having major anxiety, especially at night, and I went on antidepressants and felt so much better. You can still BF while on certain antidepressants. Then you wouldn't have to give it up.

  4. Sorry you are going through this. You know, I'm 30 weeks pregnant, and I've never felt BETTER in my life! I too had POF and used donor eggs to conceive. Before I got pregnant, I also had the anxiety, racing heart, night sweats, red flushing...all hormone related, and I think due to the POF (though a doc hasn't ever told me that- it just makes sense). I'm scared too that it will all return once I deliver my twins and all these pregnancy hormones are gone. But it's still all worth it. I know it's hard having those anxiety attacks, but I'm confident you & your doctor will be able to figure out something that will work for you. You're in my prayers!
